Shipping and transportation is the sole responsibility of the buyer. Please consider your transportation needs before making a deposit or purchasing an animal. You will be notified shortly after birth if your reservation has been fulfilled. Most of our kids leave our farm at 3-4 weeks old. Please have your transportation plans in place by that time unless alternate plans have been arranged and approved by us. In the event your animal is not picked up within 1 week of them being cleared "ready to go" you will be charged $25 per day after that 7-day grace period. We do understand that things do come up-, however we also have a schedule to keep by rotating our babies into different pens as they age. When buyers do not pick up on time, we don't have room for our new babies being born. Thank you for understanding.
Health certificates and any testing required to ship an animal to your location is at the buyer's expense. We will facilitate the Vet appointment, but buyer will be required to pay the vet invoice.
Door to door Ground transportation is preferred. Ground transportation is at the buyer's expense and should be arranged by the buyer as soon as the sale is confirmed. I can give you a referral if needed.
All of our goats are registered with the American Dairy Goat Association (ADGA). Unless your kid is sold as a wether or pet with no papers, registration can be initiated by Last Chance Ranch on the ADGA website, however it will be at the buyers' expense to pay and complete the registration thru their own ADGA account. Registration in any other registries is the buyer's responsibility. Pets/wethers are not registered. If you purchase a mature registered animal, we will provide the ADGA registration paperwork to you at the time of animal pick up. It will be buyers' responsibility to mail in the papers to ADGA and complete the transfer.
We will dis-bud all goat kids prior to selling. If you do not want your kid disbudded, full payment must be made in advance of the disbudding dates. This will be non-refundable in the event you change your mind.
When purchasing a goat from Last Chance Ranch, you agree that we have the right of first refusal, at the original or fair price should you sell the goat at a later time.
When placing a reservation, we have first option of retaining a kid before reservations are filled. We reserve the right to keep any kid resulting from any of our breedings.
We reserve the right to refuse any sale at any time for any reason.
Goats are herd animals and require the companionship of other goats. We will not sell goats to homes that don't already have goats unless you are purchasing more than one. No exceptions.
For bucklings sold intact, we reserve the right to 30 straws of semen collection for the cost of collection. This may involve you taking your buck to a local collection. Buyer agrees to cooperate with this.
Due to bio-security, once an animal is sold and has left our property, they cannot be returned. We are a clean tested herd. We test annually for CL, CAE, and Johnes. We post our bloodwork results on our website.
Once an animal is sold, we cannot guarantee its future health, growth, production or quality. We have spent a small fortune on quality animals from excellent breeding lines and have gone above and beyond to keep them happy and healthy however we have no control of the gene combinations created. We will only sell healthy animals, once the animal has left our property, we cannot be responsible for its health.
Structural Soundness Because carpal hyperextension does not present itself until later growth stages, seller agrees that if a goat is clinically diagnosed within 36 months of leaving the farm, and written veterinary documentation is provided, seller will offer a replacement goat of comparable value. This guarantee does not include refunds, and is void in cases of injury, improper nutrition, or inadequate care. To date no goat produced in our breeding program has been diagnosed with CH, however we include this guarantee to stand behind the structural soundness of our animals.
You are welcome to use any of our pictures from this website to promote an animal from our herd or their family with the attribute "courtesy of Last Chance Ranch".
